In order to respond National Action Plan on Tourism (period 2006-2010) and perform development co-operation plan on trade – tourism between Lao Cai – Yen Bai – Phu Tho provinces and tourism plan entitled “Return the Root 2008”, Lao Cai Provincial People’s Committee will organize Bac Ha Tourism and Culture Week 2008 from May 30 to June 2.
Bac Ha Tourism and Culture Week 2008 is an event to promote Bac Ha District’s unique cultural character, tourism products and potential on tourism development. It’s also opportunity to arouse national pride, increase ethnic minority people’s awareness of conserving and promoting traditional cultural values, towards substantial development target on tourism and economy.

The abundant and multiform activities on culture, art and sport will take place through the event, include: Bac Ha tourism exhibition; trade – tourism – gastronomy fair; Bac Ha plum festival; Chay River festival; traditional horse racing; art program “White plateau colour” and “Discover village cultural beauty”; ethnic costume show and special songs on Bac Ha; fireworks show… In additional, there are also the sport activities such as volleyball, tennis, tug of war, crossbow shoot…
