HCMC welcomed over 1 million foreign tourists in the first four months of this year, a rise of 18% over the same period last year.
According to the municipal Tourism Department, almost visitors came from the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, Taiwan, Canada, China, France, Singapore and Malaysia.
During the period, about 270,000 local tourists went through the city’s Tan Son Nhat international airport to tour China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia.
The city’s tourism industry earned over VND 9.3 trillion, 25% increase over the same period last year.
Vietnam hosted nearly 1.7 million foreign tourists in the first four months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 16%.
